Service — packaging licence

One contract with one dual system,
licensing every gram you ship.

Packaging that ends up as waste at a private consumer must be licensed with a dual system from the first gram. Ten authorised systems compete and a contract with any one of them covers Germany. Where we act as your authorised representative we conclude that contract in our own name, and the licence is shown to you at cost as its own line.

Licence charged at the system's own tariff and shown separately at cost · private service priced in the packaging scope

Timing depends on document completeness and independent registry and scheme review

The outcome

An active licence and a report that matches it

  • System chosen on stated criteria, with the contract and its term recorded
  • Packaging volumes licensed by fraction for the calendar year
  • The initial planned-volume report filed and repeated identically in the register

The dual system sets its own tariff, accepts the contract and issues its own invoices

Regulatory basis

Every pre-existing contract expires at the end of 2026

Section 68 VerpackDG keeps contracts concluded under the repealed act valid at the latest until the end of 31 December 2026. Every seller in Germany, domestic or foreign, therefore needs a contract under the new law for 2027. The central agency may not advise on the choice of system or on prices, and no statutory tariff exists, so any euro figure on this site is an observed market reference and not an official rate.

What the licence market gets used for

A cheap licence is sold as compliance

A prepaid webshop licence covers a capped quantity of packaging and nothing else. It does not register you, it does not represent you, and it does not file your reports.

The contract and the register disagree

The tax number and volumes in the system contract must line up with the register entry. Where they do not, the cross-check between the two produces a discrepancy rather than a warning.

Nobody plans the year-end true-up

Licences run on the calendar year against planned volumes. Actual volumes are reconciled afterwards, and a large gap in either direction costs money or credibility.

What's included

Included in the written scope.

  • Volume estimate by material fraction from your real packaging data
  • System selection on stated criteria and a recorded contract
  • Small prepaid licences bought through us and shown at cost, or direct invoicing for larger volumes
  • Initial planned-volume report and its identical repetition in the register
  • Licence invoices, payment evidence and contract term kept with the file
  • Retroactive licensing of earlier years quoted separately before anything is filed
How it works

Four controlled steps.

01

Document the facts

Collect the entity, products, channels, contracts and available evidence for dual-system participation.

02

Confirm scope and dependencies

Receive a written map of assumptions, exclusions, third parties and points requiring approval.

03

Authorise the agreed work

Private fees, external costs and client responsibilities are confirmed before any submission or commitment.

04

Coordinate and retain evidence

After a valid engagement, each action, external decision and authentic receipt is stored with its date and version.

Frequently asked

Which dual system do you use?

We work with partner systems selected on tariff, multi-client handling and invoicing terms, and we name the one that will hold your contract in the written proposal. We do not resell the system operated by the group we compete with.

What does a licence cost?

Entry prices for prepaid small-quantity licences observed across the ten systems on 18 August 2026 ranged from about €12 to €89 per year. Above those quantities the price follows the system's own tariff by fraction. We show the licence at cost and never present a market average as an official rate.

Who is invoiced for the licence?

Where we act as your representative the contract is concluded in our own name, so a small licence is normally prepaid through us and shown as its own line. For larger volumes we agree the invoicing route with the system before the contract is signed and record it in the proposal.

Can earlier years be licensed retroactively?

Retroactive licensing of earlier trading years is standard practice in the German market. We quote it separately, always before anything is filed, and we do not present it as a way to avoid consequences.
