Germany cost calculator · observed 2026 market references

Estimate the licence without hiding it inside a service fee.

Enter annual packaging quantities and say whether you already hold a register entry. The calculator applies observed 2026 market averages where one exists, floors the result at the observed entry price of a prepaid licence, and keeps the licence outside our private fees.

01

What do you place on the German market?

Packaging can be estimated below. Electrical equipment and batteries are separate regimes that need product classification and a manual quote.

02

Are you already in the packaging register?

This is the single question that changes our fee. An existing entry only needs an authorised representative added to it, so there is no guided registration session and no setup fee.

Registration and every later change of registration data are a personal duty of the producer. We prepare each field and verify the public entry; we never complete it for you.

Your packaging mix

Germany publishes no statutory packaging tariff. Two fractions have a reviewed 2026 market average; the rest are priced by your dual system and are quoted rather than estimated.

Optional review of earlier trading years

The result is non-binding. Final producer allocation, the dual system’s own tariff, material classification and tax treatment require review. Electrical and battery duties are never estimated from a packaging figure.

What the calculator does — and does not do

01

Observed market averages

Two fractions have a reviewed 2026 market average: paper and board, and plastics. Their estimate is computed from annual grams. Germany publishes no statutory tariff, so these are observations with a date, not official rates.

02

Fractions we will not invent

Glass, metals, beverage cartons, composites and natural materials have no reviewed public average. They contribute nothing to the band and are listed for quotation at your dual system’s own tariff instead of being given a made-up rate.

03

Separate cost owners

Standard is an indicative €349/year plus €150 initial setup, or €299/year with no setup if you already hold a register entry. The dual-system licence is a separate line shown at cost. Registration itself is free. VAT and other third-party costs stay separate.

Calculator questions

+

Why is my estimate never below about €12?

Because no dual system sells a licence below its own entry price. Entry prices observed across the ten systems on 18 August 2026 ranged from about €12 to €89 per year, so a weight-based result under that band is shown at the band instead.

+

Why do some materials show a quote instead of a price?

Only paper and board and plastics have a reviewed 2026 market average. For the other fractions we would have to invent a number, so we list them for quotation at your system’s tariff and say so in the estimate payload.

+

Does the result grant Amazon Starter?

No. Starter is an indicative €249 first-year and €199 renewal reference for a narrow Amazon-only profile. Channel, weight, history and the absence of deposit-bearing beverages need a human review.

+

What remains quote-only?

Electrical equipment, batteries, single-use plastics and retroactive licensing of earlier years need manual classification. Selecting them marks the estimate as open rather than inventing an external tariff.

Ready to check who may be responsible?

The short qualification distinguishes a German importer or reseller from a direct business end-user, and a first registration from a retrofit, before contact details appear.
