Review PPWR
For electronics and battery sellers

One product can create three streams,
each with its own evidence.

A device may create packaging, electrical-equipment and battery duties, and each has its own register, system and representative rules. Packaging is an active service. Electrical equipment and batteries are provided as information and scoped through a manual quote, because the lead times and guarantees are real.

Electronic devices, embedded batteries and packaging separated into German EPR streams
Multi-stream watch

One German entity can serve several streams

The electrical, battery and single-use-plastic regimes each have their own representative or registration mechanics. They can share one German-established entity, but never one registration.

A multi-stream catalogue needs separate controls

The embedded battery disappears

A battery supplied inside equipment still needs its own category data and battery-route analysis under the German battery act.

The electrical registration is expected to be quick

Registration for electrical equipment is per brand and per category and requires an insolvency-proof guarantee for equipment sold to households. It is a long-lead process and we say so before you buy.

A packaging fee is assumed to cover everything

Electrical, battery and single-use-plastic registrations, systems, levies and maintenance are separate and require a written quote.

What's included

Included in the written scope.

  • Catalogue map for equipment, batteries, packaging and single-use plastics
  • Working equipment-category and battery-data checklist
  • Active packaging scope including the representative mandate
  • Electrical-register route and guarantee requirement explained
  • Battery act route explained, in force since 7 October 2025
  • Manual quote for electrical, battery and single-use-plastic work after classification
How it works

Four controlled steps.

01

Map the facts

Record the entity, countries, channels, contracts and products relevant to electronics and battery sales.

02

Separate the streams

Packaging, electrical equipment and batteries are assessed independently, with assumptions marked for confirmation.

03

Confirm the written scope

Private fees, exclusions, external costs and client approvals are set out before any work begins.

04

Maintain authentic evidence

Official documents, filings, invoices and changes remain linked to the entity and stream that produced them.

Frequently asked

Does packaging registration cover electrical equipment and batteries?

No. They are separate streams with separate registers, systems and recurring duties. One number never covers three regimes.

Which battery law applies?

The German battery act, the BattDG, has been in force since 7 October 2025 and replaced the previous battery act. Use that name; guidance still referring only to the old act is out of date.

Do you publish a fixed electrical or battery price?

No. These are information-and-quote services. Classification, brands, categories, representation and guarantee scope have to be reviewed first, and the register operator charges its own administrative fees on top.

What about to-go cups, wipes and similar single-use plastic items?

Products listed in Annex 1 of the single-use plastics fund act carry their own registration, annual levy and a separate German-established representative duty. We flag it at qualification and quote it separately.
